I have been doing yoga and pilates in the morning before work. For the last two weeks I have packed everything for the week and have put a sack of my exercise clothes and a sack of my work clothes in the hallway so I can just put them in my gym bag the night before and just grab it the next morning. Then I don't have to decide what to wear and waste time. It all seemed very efficient and was working great...until today. I got to the gym, did the elliptical machine, then yoga and was headed to the locker to get ready. I got out of my yoga clothes to get dressed and found--to my horror--that I had forgotten to pack my work clothes. So I had nothing to wear to work.
I had a 9:00 appointement and would not have enough time to go home and come back. Luckily I wore my long yoga pants so they didn't look too bad. (A little form fitting, but black.) Someone from another office offered me a shirt that she keeps in her office with their office logo (which was about three sizes too big.) However, I found an extra office logo shirt in our office. I had no underwear except my tanktop with the built in bra so I just put the shirt on over that. I just kept hoping I wouldn't run into my boss (whose office is next to mine. She is very particular about our dress and I don't think she would have been too amused.) Luckily, for whatever reason, she come in very late today and I literally just missed her as I was headed out to my car. I thought I would go to the store and buy some clothes. After purusing the store I ended up just going home (which I should have just done in the first place). The good part was that my housemate had a package from fedex being delivered right when I was leaving so by me being able to sign for it, she didn't have to go pick it up.
The irony of the whole story is that we were talking about this in our office yesterday and how I was super organized to have everything planned out and distributed so that I can get to the gym early. Then for me not to bring my work clothes in was too much. :)
So what is the moral of this story? Keep a change of clothes at work just so I will never forget again.

Oh, that is funny! I'm so glad you were able to improvise and not get into trouble with your boss. I could totally see myself doing something similar!
But, hey, great job on working out, especially in the morning. I have decided after the last couple of weeks of having the kids or others thwart my afternoon workout, that I need to start getting up early again. If I could just manage to pull my rear end out of my warm, comfy bed...
Too Funny!
