This week has been great! I was all caught up on my homework and assignments so I didn't feel as stressed out as I usually do. Of course today I am looking at next week and getting a little anxious about the next few weeks. My friend Nicole reminded me that there are only four weeks left of school and that really concerned me! I am thrilled to have a break for a few weeks before Summer courses start, but I am also worried about getting all my work done.
I went with a friend to National Geographic for a lecture by Helen Thayer. She, at the age of sixty three, with her husband crossed the Gobi Desert on foot. She walked for 81 days 18 hours a day. She had been injured in an automobile accident and was not completely healed when she went. It was an amazing story. To hear more about her story go to: http://www.adventureclassroom.org/adventures/gobi/map.htm
It's really quite amazing! It reminds me of how blessed I am and what other people suffer.
I hung out with a friend and had a great time.
Saturday we had a girls night and went to the Cherry Blossom Festival Fireworks. We met beforehand for dinner. I went to Starbucks and got a steamer with hazelnut. I had never tried Hazelnut before and it was delicious! I will be getting it again.
The fireworks were good, but it was more just being with friends. The metro was packed (huge group at the top) so we decided (after much deliberation from the group) to walk. I was so glad because it was Conference and I had been sitting a lot so it was nice to move around and not be jostled about in the metro. Conference starts in a half hour and I have a bit of work to do before I watch so I will sign off. It's supposed to be in the seventies at the end of the week. I am SO looking forward to warmer weather. I'm am very tired of it being cold!!!
