The Loo Family

Tom's family was very welcoming, kind, sweet, and generous.  This picture is of Tom's mom (Ava), me, Mary (Tom's twin), and of course Tom.  I really enjoyed getting to meet each of them.  It was nice too because we met his mom first and then went to the restaurant and met Mary.  It wasn't overwhelming or too much all at once.  In fact, I felt like one of the family--no awkwardness or anything like that.  Tom told me that Ava said a few things to him in Chinese that he wasn't going to translate so that probably took some of the awkwardness away. :)

I forgot to take a picture of Henry, but we had dinner with him so I was able to meet everyone.  It was interesting meeting Henry because he and Tom share a lot of the same mannerisms though they have different personalities.
On Saturday, Tom took me to San Clemente, which is a few hours south of LA.  We met his brother Frank (on the left), his sweet wife Cassie, and little girl Kate.  Kate is absolutely adorable.  She has so much energy, is always happy and is so smart.  She's only in first grade and she could read like a pro.  She is fluent in Spanish and in Chinese.  Wow!  I went on a long walk with Cassie on this cool trail they have near their house.  It was nice to have some one-on-one time with her and get to know her better.

I really appreciated that the Loo's were all so welcoming to me.  It made getting to know them very easy and quite enjoyable.
